"ALEX, EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON"- There is a Plan much bigger than any of us can see. Everything that Life delivers to us fits that Plan. Nothing happens accidentally. Everything that happens is, somehow, connected to a much larger Picture. Knowing this make all of Life's experiences, sad or happy, take on an entirely new meaning & changes our approach with life's challenges. Keep on focusing on and don't lose sight of the Big Picture.

In closing, let me share with you three of the Vital Tools that I always go back to and read when confronted by a seemingly desperate situation, or insurmountable challenges, or just feeling down:

"OUR GREATEST GLORY LIES NOT IN NEVER FAILING, BUT IN RISING UP EVERYTIME WE FAIL"

DON'T QUIT (The Poem)
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You might succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt -
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

HOW GOD ANSWERS OUR PRAYERS:
He NEVER says NO when we pray to Him ... He answers our prayers in three ways:
1) YES my Child, you will have it my Child ... ;
2) Not now ... now is not the right time my Child; and/or
3 I have something better for you, my Child !!!

Thank you again ALEX for taking on the challenge, please don't give up and things will be better and brighter next time around! Take care, God bless and best regards to your wonderful family.

Dear Alex,

I am not much into internet. I only check on my mails and answer important items. But when I read the article of Max Soliven being circulated I did not hesitate to forward it to all my friends in my address book. Needless to say, I was so sorry that you did not make it in the winning 12. Our country needs people like you in government. But I believe all is not lost.

Hope you will not lose hope in our people and our country. Thanks for being a good example. You're an inspiration.

There are 2 types of changes. Change for the better or change for the worse.

I totally agree that people can change a nation. The problem our country is facing is multifaceted. There's so much, people need to change in their own selves before change can reflect on the nation. But we need to make even the smallest change in the... See More way we ... See Morethink and the way we discipline ourselves. I guess, we can start with young children, we MUST mold them to be more responsible and adhere to the great value of hard work, respect for themselves and others. These are the people of tomorrow. We need to educate everyone starting at home and at school. I'm sorry to say that our education system is also gone down hill. Unless children attend upscale public schools would we find quality education. I hate to say this but a lot of our school teachers are in our school system not because of their qualifications/ skill/ expertise but because some up there put them there. ( the lagay system, utang na loob or paki sama etc) What would empty heads teach our children? ( probably close to nothing)

Poverty that our people are facing day after day, after day, pulls them down to do things that are not acceptable just to survive. Change can not be accomplished very easily. Our election if done with integrity and fairness is a good start for change but poverty allows people to be bribed and they put the same crooks in power.

The bottom line is people will have to make even the most minute adjustment in the way they think, the way they say things and the way they do things. Every little change for the better can make a difference if everyone starts making these changes. But the biggest change will have to come from the people running our government.

Our small country of almost 100 million people needs some huge help from God and external help somewhere. We Filipino people need to help each other. May God help us make these changes.

I hope to God that Mr. Alex Lacson would make a difference. I also pray that he is for real and will not follow the usual path of corruption, greed and self enrichment. More power to him!

i am very sad that you did not make it ... in our own simple ways we campaigned for you in our family , neighbors and friends... my family and i voted for you...

i am hopeful that the new administration... can alleviate the plight of the poor and give a solution to the problem of poverty... and illiteracy... that perhaps comelec and other NGOs should do something to promote voters education even it is not election time... this way... should Filipinos be educated.. they would stop voting candidates like erap, lapid, lucy torres, and the old trapos ...

i am also looking forward that stealing in the country's coffers be stopped... i believe that KUN WALANG CORRUPT... WALANG MAHIRAP... perhaps set an example how they should be punished ... the law should have sharper teeth sa mga kawatan sa gobyerno... di ba?

i am sorry our voices are still voices in the wilderness...

next time ... have your life story be in MMK.. hehe... or in a movie... the cayetanos did that last election... do give it some thought...

how about running for congress next time? be our representative... but you have to be seen in Negros... God be with you... God bless the Philippines.. !!!

Next time sir! Mabuhay po kayo at ang Pilipinas!

dear alex,

although you did not make it to the magic circle, i did not regret having campaigned you to my friends, neigborhood, officemates and other networks. anyways, it's not the end of the world yet and my organization is ready to team up with your advocacy. perhaps a preparation for the next senatorial run?

a simple man, with a simple power of thoughts like you, a rare acquaintance to find.

Beginning today, we will start working for 2013. When you ran for Congressman in your district here in Negros, you were an unknown...then you sort-of disappeared from the consciousness of the Negrenses. When your book came out, that was the time I remembered that you were that Alex Lacson...so now, that you have come back to public consciousness, do not fade away...but be visible, continue your work and advocacy to better the lives of Filipinos. Almost 5,000,000 Filipinos, gave you their vote...do not make them forget...surely there will be many among them who would like to continue working with you...that includes me and my family. Just sound out the call and we will be there! Mabuhay!
