TULOYPNOY: A JOURNEY OF FAITH

ajoneA yellow drum outside 25 Times Street. With the passing of former Pres. Cory Aquino, the color yellow was once again waving from trees and lamp posts in remembrance of her sacrifices for the nation. But this yellow drum was not for remembrance — it was a call for courage and conviction. Seeking a person with integrity, commitment and humility to lead the nation away from the corruption of the last few years, TuloyPnoy, a group of patriotic citizens, found in Sen. Noynoy Aquino a leader that can be trusted.

On August 31, 2009, National Heroes Day, Alex and the members of TuloyPnoy called on Filipinos everywhere to ask Sen. Noynoy Aquino to run for president in the 2010 national elections. The TuloyPnoy members took turns reading their own letters to Sen. Aquino and dropping them into the yellow drum. Over the next few days, the drum was filled by notes from people from all walks of life, writing their way to history. TuloyPnoy’s journey of faith in a responsible, empowered and vigilant citizenry is just beginning.
